Terms of use

These terms cover Ghosts of Reykjavik at ghostsofreykjavik.com. Using the site means accepting them. They are short because the site asks almost nothing of you: there is no account, nothing to buy and nothing to submit.

Using what is here

Read it, follow it while you play, link to it, and quote a reasonable piece of it with a link back. That is all fine and it is what the site is for.

Republishing a page in full, or scraping the site to rebuild its indexes somewhere else, is a different thing. The writing, the indexes and the design are the operator’s work and stay so. If you want to use a substantial part of it, ask at contact@ghostsofreykjavik.com and the answer is usually yes with credit.

Other people’s work

Game names, screenshots and patch note text belong to the studios and publishers that made them, and appear here for identification, criticism and reporting. The legal notice says how to raise a concern about any of it.

What is not promised

Guides are written against a specific version of a game, and games change without warning. Where a page depends on a patch version it says which one, and the honest position is that an older route may no longer work. The site is offered as it is, without warranty, and what you do in your own save file is your own decision.

The site aims to stay up and current, and it makes no promise of either. Pages can be corrected, moved or removed at any time.

Advertising

The site is paid for by advertising. Ads are chosen by the ad network rather than by the operator, and an ad appearing here is not a recommendation. What data advertising involves, and how to refuse it, is set out under privacy and cookies.

The members area

The members area is opened by a code posted to channel members on YouTube. Membership itself is a YouTube arrangement governed by Google’s terms, and this site simply recognises the code. Sharing the code publicly ends its usefulness for everyone, so the code changes when that happens.

Law

Icelandic law applies, and the courts of Iceland have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer in another EEA country, the protections your own law gives you still apply and nothing here removes them.

These terms can change. The date at the top says when they last did.
