Silent Hill: Townfall: every puzzle, and why the answer is usually on the CRTV
Every puzzle in Silent Hill: Townfall with the fact each one hides: the pharmacy code that comes off the CRTV banners, the scales puzzle item from a chapter you already left, the patient room that is a timing test rather than a code, and the chapter 2 maze.

Townfall rarely writes a code down. It puts the answer on the television and expects you to have tuned it, or it splits the combination across three objects in three different rooms.
Once you know that, the puzzles stop being guessing games. Here is every one, with the fact it is hiding.
The rule: tune the CRTV first
Tuning the CRTV is how this game hands out puzzle answers, and it is filed as a collectible so most people treat it as optional. The pharmacy code is read off the CRTV. The chapter 2 wheel combination begins there.
Walk into a chapter, find the signal, watch it, then do the puzzle.
Chapter by chapter
| Puzzle | Chapter | The fact |
|---|---|---|
| Wheel | 2 | A combination split three ways: the CRTV, a marked calendar, and the Room Service Card, which is also one of the chapter's Documents and Clues |
| The maze | 2 | The time sink of the whole game. Built to look identical in every direction, flooded stone and red light |
| Organ Transplant Box | 3 | Two locks, one answer. Needs the Organ Transplant Card, collectible 03 of 08, and power on in Zoe's house so you can read the mail. The second mail carries an ID at the very end, matched against the card |
| Pharmacy | 4 | The code is on the CRTV. Tuning it shows four banners, each one a reading: a count of fingers, a number, a BP meter position, and a count of tablets. Four banners, four figures, in that order |
| Scales | 4 | Three items, and one is from a chapter you have already left. The Prescription Dosage Error Note from a pharmacy locker, the Broken Stethoscope in Jess' House, and Zoe's Card, which comes out of the organ transplant box back in chapter 3 |
| Patient Room | 7 | A timing test, not a code. Needs the intubation kit first. Watch for the bounce with the white circle and click on the beat. No amount of searching the room helps |
| Blood Pressure | 7 | A sequence. Done out of order it looks exactly like a broken puzzle |
| Surgery Room | 7 | Two halves: three medicines, then a code. The counter runs 01/03 so you can see what you are short |
| X-Ray | 7 | |
| Blood Door | 8 | Wants the three blood bags from the ward. Getting them is the long part; this is the placement. If the door refuses you, a bag is still in the basement or behind the Ward P door |
| Tape | 10 | |
| Floppy Disk | ||
| Projector | 13 | |
| Clearance Card | ||
| Generator | ||
| Strange | 15 | Opens the gate that holds the third ending item |
| AUX | 15 | |
| Clamp Release | ||
| CEG HQ Pipe |
Chapter 7 is four puzzles in a row
The hospital puts the Patient Room, the Blood Pressure, the Surgery Room and the X-Ray between you and the rest of the building. Being stuck on one of them looks exactly like being stuck on another, so check which one you are actually in before you start hunting.
The scales puzzle is the one that strands runs
One of its three items comes out of a chapter you have already finished. If you left chapter 3 without opening the organ transplant box, the scales puzzle in chapter 4 cannot be completed from where you are standing, and nothing on screen tells you that.
Open the box in chapter 3.
The maze needs watching rather than reading
The chapter 2 maze is the one thing here we would not try to write down. It is built to look the same in every direction, and a list of lefts and rights is harder to follow than the route. That video runs the way out start to finish with nothing cut and no commentary over it, on purpose.
Doing the Strange Puzzle matters more than it looks
The Strange Puzzle in chapter 15 opens a gate, and behind that gate is the third item for both New Game Plus endings. Skip it and you close both of them for that run. The endings guide is on the game's page.
Blank cells above are puzzles we have filmed where the description does not state the trick outright. The solution is in the video for each, which is where a step sequence belongs.
