DOOM The Dark Ages: every collectible, by type and by chapter
All 38 Rubies, 24 Toys, 26 Codex entries, 12 Wolf Statues and 11 Wraithstones, plus which of the 22 chapters we have filmed a full sweep for. Counts first, because the counts are what the game will not tell you.

DOOM The Dark Ages counts your collectibles per chapter and refuses to tell you what you are missing. You get a number out of a number, and the game leaves the rest to you.
That is fine until you are on 6 of 7 in a chapter you have already walked twice. So this page leads with the totals per type, because knowing there are exactly 12 Wolf Statues in the whole game is worth more than any single location.
The totals, which the game never states in one place
| Type | Total | What it unlocks |
|---|---|---|
| Rubies | 38 | Upgrades, and the largest set in the game |
| Codex entries | 26 | The Lore Nerd trophy |
| Toys | 24 | The Toy Collector trophy |
| Wolf Statues | 12 | Secrets, and the least documented type |
| Wraithstones | 11 | Skins |
| Demonic Essence, health | Per game | The Essential Health trophy |
| Demonic Essence, armor | Per game | The Essential Armor trophy |
| Demonic Essence, ammo | Per game | The Essential Ammo trophy |
Each of those has a single route video covering every location in the game in one pass, which is the fastest way to close a specific type. If you know which type you are short on, use the type route. If you only know the chapter, use the chapter route below.
The three Demonic Essence trophies are one job
Essential Health, Essential Armor and Essential Ammo look like three separate hunts and are really one walk with three shopping lists. The essences sit in the same places as each other more often than not, so doing them together saves most of the work.
The chapter routes
Each of these covers every secret, toy, codex entry, gold and skin in that chapter in one sweep.

Seventeen of the twenty-two chapters have a full sweep filmed. The five without one are 3, 13, 14, 15 and 21, and saying so is more useful than implying a complete set. For those five, the type routes above still cover every location in them, because a type route walks the whole game.
Which order to do this in
On a first playthrough, do nothing. The Dark Ages is a game about momentum and hunting a codex entry mid-fight ruins both. The chapters stay open.
On a cleanup run, work by type rather than by chapter:
- Wolf Statues first, all 12. They are the fewest and the most hidden, and knowing what one looks like makes the rest of the run easier.
- Wraithstones, all 11. Same reason, and they unlock skins you will want for the rest of the run.
- The three Demonic Essence types together, in one walk.
- Toys, all 24, which closes Toy Collector on its own.
- Codex entries, all 26, which closes Lore Nerd.
- Rubies last, all 38. The largest set, and the one where a per-chapter route helps most because they are spread thinnest.
Then use the chapter routes to close whatever the counter still disputes. That is what they are for: a chapter counter that says 6 of 7 is a chapter problem, and a type you have never found is a type problem.
The one thing that catches people
The chapter counter includes gold, and gold is easy to walk past because it does not announce itself the way a toy does. If a chapter is one short and you have found every secret you can see, look for gold rather than for another secret. It is nearly always the answer.
