CONTROL Resonant: every map unlock, and the one rule behind all of them
Every zone map in CONTROL Resonant comes off the same way: find three antennas, align all three, the fog lifts. Central, Evacuation, West Incursion, Underpass, Park and the Unknown Region, plus the Mapping Pylon that opens the full Manhattan map and the walk back to Downtown if you lost fast travel.

CONTROL Resonant hides each district behind fog until you clear it, and the quest log never explains how. People work it out once per zone, slowly, and then do it again in the next one.
There is one rule and it covers every zone in the game: find three antennas, align all three, the fog comes off. Once you know that, a new district stops being a mystery and turns into a checklist.
Every zone map
| Zone | What it wants | Quest it sits in |
|---|---|---|
| Full Manhattan | Three mini towers, then the big tower | Welcome To Manhattan, Mapping Pylon |
| Central Zone | Three antennas aligned | Power Lines |
| Evacuation Zone | Three antennas aligned | |
| West Incursion Zone | Three antennas aligned | |
| Underpass | Three antennas aligned | |
| Park Zone | Three antennas aligned | |
| Unknown Region | Three antennas aligned |
The full Manhattan map is the odd one out and the first one to do. The Mapping Pylon objective wants you to interact with three mini towers. Doing all three makes the big tower usable, and interacting with the big tower opens the whole Manhattan map at once.
The trap in every other zone is the word "align". The quest names the task without saying there are three separate antennas to find rather than three settings on one tower, so people stand at the first one trying to solve it.
Do the map before the long quest in that zone
Each district has one quest that runs long, and every one of them is easier with the fog off.
| Zone | The long quest waiting in it |
|---|---|
| Evacuation Zone | Into the Sinkhole, about twelve minutes |
| West Incursion Zone | The Incursion Fault, about nine minutes, including a parking garage escape |
| Underpass | Recursions and Iterations, about twenty minutes |
Clearing three antennas first takes a minute or two. It takes more than that back out of any of those three.
Reaching the zones in the first place
Two districts need a route before they need a map.
| Where | What opens it |
|---|---|
| Below the Sinkhole, and the Underpass | A route down that does not start where the sinkhole drops you. Reaching the Underpass fast travel starts a new quest, The Underpass Fault |
| Unknown Region | The Hedron Link |
| Park Region | Its own route, then the Park Zone map |
Turn fast travel on while you are standing at it. This game lets you walk past a fast travel point without activating it, then move the story forward, and later you open the map and find nothing to travel back to. That is how people end up stranded away from Downtown and conclude a collectible is gone for the run. It is recoverable: there is a four minute walk back, and it is on the channel.
The short version
- Mapping Pylon first, for the full Manhattan map.
- In every new district, three antennas before anything else.
- Activate the fast travel point the moment you reach it.
Every route above is filmed. The guide for each zone is on the game's page, and each video runs the walk to all three antennas in one take, because the antenna positions are the part a written list cannot give you honestly.
